2019 Bills Draft Report

September 27, 2009

by Adam Schefter
Bills Draft Updates

Pick 1.13 Cade Lewis DT(6'3 301, 71 SPD, 89 STR, 67 AGI, 79 ACC) Lewis was a great pick at this point to give great young youth behind the two studs currently holding those spots. He adds great athleticism and good size to the position and will be great for years to come.
Grade: A-

Pick 2.13 Brad Cannon FS(5'11 206, 95 SPD, 75 STR, 88 AGI, 95 ACC, 85 JMP) Cannon was a solid pick at this point and was coveted by a ton of GM's as rumors had it. GM John Stanley knew he had to jump on the idea of picking Cannon as it was a huge pickup behind now FS Ronald Robinson who is getting up there. He is surely a solid 2nd round pick and was thought to be coveted by Stanley at 1.13 also.
Grade: A

Pick 3.13 Chad Greer LT(6'5 326, 62 SPD, 92 STR, 51 AGI, 85 ACC)
This was seen as a good pick for the Bills trying to add youth to their O-Line. Greer has great size for the position but to go along with that he has great athleticism. A solid pick at this time in the draft for this team.
Grade: A-

Pick 4.5 Dustin Cenci C(6'3 302, 60 SPD, 94 STR, 65 AGI, 79 ACC)
The Bills loved this kid at this point in the draft. He has good size for a C to go along with solid athletic ability and good strength. Who knows how many GM were going after Cenci but its clear that he is a solid pick nonetheless. He should be good for years to come.
Grade: B+

Pick 4.13 James Jordan RB(5'11 227, 89 SPD, 80 STR, 80 AGI, 86 ACC, 81 BTK) The Bills thought Jordan could be a good goal line back of the future and a good backup that could start if ever called on. He has good size and speed along with a knack to break away from tacklers. A good solid value pick for the Bills here.
Grade: B-

Pick 5.13 TRADED

Pick 6.5 Landon Hughes SS(6' 214, 88 SPD, 59 STR, 91 AGI, 86 ACC, 81 JMP) Hughes is a solid pick this late in the draft for a value standpoint. If he scews up he will be an eventual starter in this league. But if he scews down then he will be worth next to nothing. So thats the risk you have to take but at this standpoint where nothing has happened it is a decent pick.
Grade: C+

Pick 6.13 Dan Wright WR(6'3 190, 88 SPD, 88 AGI, 96 ACC, 90 JMP)
Again in this situation Wright is no stud by any means but could be if he scews up a bit. If not he will be a solid pro backup with nothing flashy. But he has good size and good acceleration out of routes and decent enough jump that is he scews up he could be a decent #2 or 3 in this league.
Grade: C

Bills Draft Updates

Pick 1.2: Oliver Williams CB(6'2", 97 spd, 91 AGI, 93 ACC, JMP 89) Oliver was definitely the #2 CB in this draft and possibly the #1 depending on your opinion. He is expected to come in day one and be productive and be the starter opposite Bruce Urban the young star. If the scew holds up or gets better this player will be amazing. If the scew turns against him Oliver will still be a star and productive player.
GRADE: A

Pick 2.2: Lewis Dotson WR(6'2", 94 spd, 91 AGI, 91 ACC, 80 CTH, 82 JMP) Lewis was the best WR left at this point and was a key position of need for the Bills. He is expected to come in day one and either be a #2 or #3. If the scew is for him he will be a superstar, if its against him he will still be a productive football player when all is said and done.
GRADE: B+

Pick 3.2: TRADED for Chauncey Danielson(90 STR, 91 RBK, 91 PBK, 80 ACC) G. At 27 yrs old and a Pro Bowl G this is a good deal for the Bills as the pick up a starter at RG for a 3rd rd pick.
GRADE: B+

Pick 4.2: Junior Bridges CB(6'1", 90 SPD, 88 AGI, 90 ACC, 80 JMP, 76 TKL) This pick in my estimation was a bit of a chance for the Bills, but its the 4th rd and you can afford that. They picked Bridges who if the scew lets him hold tight he will be a very productive #3 in the NFL, but if the scew goes against him he might have a short stay in the NFL.
GRADE: B-

Pick 4.26(aquired in deal with Titans): Jim Ricks WR( 6'3", 90 SPD, 87 AGI, 89 ACC, 61 CTH) Another risk that may be worth taken as if the scew goes well for this young fellow then he will have a nice career if it goes against him it could be a tough go of it. But thats the kind of risk u have to take at the end of the 4th.
GRADE: C+

Picks 5.2,5.26,6.2,7.2 TRADED for a 4th next year.

Players Selected for Bills:
Oliver Williams CB
Lewis Dotson WR
Chauncey Danielson G(TRADE)
Junior Bridges CB
Jim Ricks WR

BREAKING NEWS: BILLS Make Deal with Viks

BREAKING NEWS: BILLS DRAFT UPDATE
Sunday May 24, 2009

A source close to Adam Schefter is reporting the Vikings and Bills have again agreed on a deal.

---------------------------------------------
The Reported Deal:

Vikings Send:
Chauncey Danielson

Bills Send:
3.2
---------------------------------------------

Analysis: This is a great deal for the Bills they gain a Pro Bowl G and only lose a 3rd round pick. Enough said. There is no way at 3.2 you will find a player that can step in and do what this guy can do.

BREAKING NEWS: BILLS MAKE HUGE DEAL

BREAKING NEWS: BILLS MAKE HUGE DEAL
Tuesday May 12, 2017

A source close to Adam Schefter has reported that the Vikings and Bills have reached an agreement on a deal.
-----------------------------------------------
The Reported Deal:

Vikings Send:
Corey McGwire
Grant Hunter
Aaron McCalister
Phil Foley

for

Bills Send:
Darrin Webb
John Armstrong
Antoine Wells
-----------------------------------------------

This deal marks the first deal made by John Stanley the new GM of the Bills. The one suprise is the dealing of star CB John Armstrong. He reportedly got in an argument with the coach and owner of the bills and sparked the shopping of him. Although he may have been on the block he wasnt going easy. The Bills wanted market value back and thats what they got.

Analysis:
The Bills were in need of a star TE and thats exactly what they got with McGwire he can block, run, catch he has the complete package. Another player brought in was Grant Hunter the great veteran CB who can still play this part of the deal was probably a short term solution while others develop like Phil Foley who also got aquired in the deal. Mr.Stanley and company believe with some hard work and good coaching he can be a star. And last but not least break out rookie RB Aaron McCalister he played very well this year and is expected to come in and get significant carries right away. With McCalister coming in the Bills felt that Antoine Wells and the same thing with McGwire and Webb.

All in All its a great day to be a Bill of any kind. They upgraded there team with some moves and are looking to be more of a contendor next year.
