Broncos : WTF ???!!!! |
As really disappointing as was the opening loss of this season, we kenw the staff was to have some strong to drastic changes.
But Those ones !!!!! :
Broncos send HB Zimmerman for Saints 1st, Saints 3rd and HB Clayton
And a day after that :
Broncos send SS Porter for Jets SS Gonzalez, Jets SS Grimm and Jets RG Avery
It is now known that Gonzalez will start at FS and Grimm at SS. Avery will play the LG position moving then LT Spriggs as a back-up, as RT Wesley will start at LT. The rest of the line does not change with Ostresh as C, Ambrose as RG and Maguire as RT. And with Zimmerman out, Swain will start at HB.
No comments were available, but the move might indicate that the Broncos will try to rejuvenate and may consider this season as a growing one for all those kids. Teh question is now : when Nealy will be ebnched if the teams still loses ? |

BRONCOS 2019 DRAFT REVIEW |
After a disappointing season for which GM Ratajczak had high expectations, it was time to draft and build ahead. Some Vets were let go some were cut to make room for what is beleived to be the last import of talent for the sky to be the limit.
Let's review it.
1.28 = LT Gabe Ambrose * Wisconsin * :::: The first pick of two OL in this draft. will play OG where the staff feels the problem stands to go ahead. It means OG Sweeney and Orlando will surely be back-up. The try with them was fine but it is seems to be limited to give room to Zimmerman. Provided the skew is gentle on the speed, and Denver has one of a kind to play OG.
2.6 = RT Ben Wesley * Notre Dame * :::: Really really fine RT who'll play OG too. Maybe a relative to GM Wesley ( ), if he is as fine an OG than as sharp as is GM Wesley's humor, the OL has a major boost. The truth will be set on field and hopefully he gets more ACC after the skew is removed.
2.11 = WR Leslie Howard * Indiana * :::: After the trading of Thomas, another We was sought. Denver drafted the midget from Indiana but his blazing speed is what is sought. With some divine help, ACC and AGI will not be skewed down too much, and as so, the Broncos may have the speedster thay may have lacked to support Neally and the passing corp.
3.11 = DT Tim Hewitt * Miami * :::: A surprise pick here as the DL already has 2 brilliant DT; but the run defense may have favored this one as Hewitt was one of the last few good prospect. The run D was horrible, and may be a more mobile DT was a need in place of Stone. AWR here is low; but practise will try to up it. With a gentle skew at AGI, Hewitt may find himself to be an excellent pick.
3.21 = QB Tyrone Hendrickson * Illinois * :::: Does Nealy feels the pressure now ? A lot has been said on his erratic and poor showing this season. The staff was a bit fed up with his play and the pick of Hendrickson is surely one of the manifestation of it. Or at least it sends a message to Nealy. Hendrickson is tall strong and has a good arm provided the skew is fine with it. He is kinf of ready with 70 AWR. The team will not be against some more ACC after the skew. Already 24 but he can be played right now. Nice competition to Nealy.
4.11 = Traded to Houston for a 2020 3rd rounder.
4.21 = K Jeff Russell * Syracuse * :::: The best Kicker according to the Broncos scouting department felt in thei grasp. K Mike Foley is on his last leg. Russell will be an understudy to Foley this year; but will start immediately to kick the KO. A year to put this THA up and he will surely be the strong leg the Broncos need.
5.11 = FS Larry Sharpe * Ga. Southern * :::: With Hall not resigned, the Broncos needed a back-up. Sharpe has great size but is quite a gamble with his 90- ACC and aGI. Hopefully the skew is kind enough; or there's a risk he ends up in the waiver pool.
6.11 = RE Earl Mullen * Florida * :::: Nice pick here with the speed DE. Not that it was a real need with the depth the Broncos has; but if the skew is kind with his speed, with his size he'll be a relly nice addition in the rotation. Last year Dan Simon, who the Broncos acquired for this year 1.11, has done good but not as the team expected. Mullen may provide the help for Simon to be fresh and be disruptive.
7.11 = ROLB James Francis * Virginia * :::: A nice all around LB who will go as far as the skew will give him to his speed. Not a need but a fine depth guy.
This draft is good but failed to give a 4th or 5th CB as the depth recquires. Hopefully the team has enough cash to shop a valuable one. This draft is nonetheless solid but the skew will tell the story. |

Broncos won third game in a row |
FIRST AWAY GAME AND FIRST WIN :: BRONCOS WON IN SEATTLE
Another kind of test for the Broncos in week 4, as they went to Seattel to face the defending NFC West champion. Seattle is always tough to face, and this game was not different as the Broncos pulled the victory in the 4th quarter with 10 unanswered points.
The Broncos offense focused on the pass, trying to exploit the zones allowed by the Tampa 2 Defense employed by the Seahawks. At this game, WR Corey Thomas' number was called a lot and made his talent of run after catch speak loudly : he had 7 REC for 147 yards and 1 score. Nealy tried a lot of passes, and was again TO less with 2 TDs, 253 yards of passing with no Ints. His second TD throw was to TE Jessie Harris. Seattle, focused on stopping the run, and as so Zimmerman had only 70 yards. But the GP to play an high passing offense is also to explain this.
On défense, the team did pretty good despite allowing 106 rushing yards and 200+ in passing. The D was focused on the pass and it shows as the seahawks had some huge gains out of the draw. But in the end, the pass first philosophy paid; as their was 1 FR which was also recovered, 2 sacks and 2 Ints. Ben Elliott after 3 games with non, had his first 2 ints of the season, while rookie talent LOLB Harry had another strong showing with 5 TKL, 1 SCK and 1 FR.
This is a very good start after a quarter of the season played. The ebst in the 3years under GM Ratajczak. At the end of this week, depending on what the Raiders do, the Broncos can be atop the division.

Broncos - week 2 / week 3 |
BRONCOS REGAIN FOCUS AND WIN
In week 2 and 3 the Broncos were also playing at home and the goal was to avoid a 0-3 defciit with 3 home games played. entering week 2 and the poor showing vs KC, the fan base could only wonder what the team had to offer.
A solid 21-17 win over the Chargers, followed by a 24-13 one over the Cardinals, have put the faith back into the team. Expectations are high on this team, and this is the first sup .500 mark achived since the arrival of GM Ratajczak.
After having allowed 180+ rushing yards and 200 passing yards Vs KC, the last two oppenents filed to reach the 100 yards rushing and 200 yards passings. After allowing 4 Tds to KC, just 3 were scored combined in week 2 and 3. The Defense also recorded 6 sacks in week 2 and 3 to only 1 in week 1. TO are still hard to come with only 1 Int : loads of FF are seen but FR are still waiting to be collected.
This good persormance by the defense goes in pair with the better showing of the offense; above all the pass offense. Zimmerman still continues to run hard and collected 194 yards with one score in weeks 2 and 3 combined; but the major Stride is Nealy and his WRs, As Nealy after postin abysmal stats in week 1, passed for 434 yards, with 5 TDS and 2 Ints in week 2 and 3 combined. Sacks allowed are down with 1 in two weeks vs 4 in week 1. Wrs Corey Thomas and Ben Curry are hot right now with both combining in two weeks 350 yards receiving for 4 scores.
Starting rookies are gaining momentum as LOLB Harry collects in 3 weeks 18 TKL, 2 TFL, 1 FR and 1 Int. FB Mackey has not a lot of run but his short yardages gain are key, and his driving blocks are also one of the reason Zimmerman is doing good this year.
