Cowboys GM on his back |
| As some of you may know i have had back pains for some years now since retiring from the game of football. Well a recent MRI revealed that i have broken a piece of my back between the L4-L5. This news has devastated me as well as my family. This injury may require surgery, there are other options starting with physical therapy. I have made a appointment with a nonsurgical orthopedic doctor for a 2nd opinion. please keep your fingers crossed as i am afraid of doctors with knifes who want to cut my back open, that coupled with the thought of not working for a year while i recover. I ask that you keep me in your prayers... If something should happen i have asked my son to take over my team till i can return. |

Cowboys OTA/Training camp |
Where are the Cowboys now that the offseason tasks are complete? We sat down with coach/GM Brad Clarkson to pick his brain on what he thinks of the new crop and the rest of the crew.
Q: What do you think of your new rookies ?
A: We are excited about them, but we are having problems getting everyone equal time and finding ways to start the rookies while not deflating the Vets moral and drive.
Q: What are your plans with your rookies?
A: Feeney was was a pleasant surprise, His abilities where just what we where looking for in a MLB, Our opinion is that he is ready now to start for us now but its hard to just move him into that position with the breakout play of Duncan. I think you will see them splitting time this season, The same with ROLB Gaines and Burton.
Q: And what of 3rd round Selection QB D.Sparks ?
A: His skills are outstanding we are taking our time with our 21 yearold QB but we do think this is the guy to take the command of the offense when Walls is ready to step down. He will see some time this season so that he is not sitting idle this becomes a delicate situation as we dont want Walls to feel like we are pushing him out, that is not the case at all..
Q: What about the talk that there is ill will between some of the older players and the rookies.
A: Wow, That is a odd question. You guys know how it goes and this is an ongoing thing with the rookies and Vets nobody wants to lose there job and the rookies come into camp with the intentions of taking the job so you can see where there would be a little animosity. This animosity is squashed by the end of camp and the team has bonded..
Q: Where do you see your team finishing this season ?
A: Well its kinda early for that but i do see us doing better than last season perhaps a playoff appearance. We are in a tuff division all of those teams are run well and can give us a hard time... |

Time to worrie in BIG-D? |
Cowboys worried about there future, With a close game against the Eagles resulting in another loss to the division foe the Cowboys are forced to look at there team. front office seems to be making the rite moves. If you look at the team on paper you see a well rounded team with rookies player extraordinary football. So where are the problems ? Well there is an issue with there once famed and feared QB WR combo Walls and Spoto, after week 3 there is no signs of life in the passing game. Could the loss of Byron Hollings be affecting the team ? is the blast of power from rookie HB, could this be causing waves between the coaching staff or is it Wall and Spoto feeling left out of the spotlight ? Tons of questions circle the team as they aproach week 4 and an inter state rivalry with the Texans.
So what is this reporters thoughts on the whole thing ? Its a transition phase for the team. a team who hasnt seen a solid running game since the departure of star running back Anthony Thomas this coupled with a coach who has spent the last 4-5 season working and building a team around a passing game and now has to figure out the delicate ballance that devides the two. conclusion if you are a fan of this team dont give up on them they are going to bounce back, it may not be this season but its not long before they are turning the corner and are back in the playoffs again.. |
