The Story of the Vuong Brothers! |
ATL Georgia March 17th 2009 - When Head Coach Ray Lewis last week announced that Dwayne Taylor was not going to be starting week 4, and that veteran Frank Vuong was, the Falcons locker room was quiet. Dwayne apologized to the team and stated that he was going to have his eyes checked since he could no longer tell the difference between his teams uniforms and those of opposing teams. The mood was quiet as HC Lewis asked that the team not spread the news and informed everyone that a press release would not be released as GM James Gudgell was worried about fan's rioting and not attending the game on Sunday.
The mood was reportedly tense at the Vuong family estate in Oklahoma as the silent comparison of last weeks stunning game from Frank's younger brother Andre Vuong who plays for the Houston Texans. Would Frank continue to disappoint, or could he come back with a vengance and prove that he still deserves to play in TWR. Only time would tell.
And time has told. Although the stadium went deafly quite as Frank Vuong's name was called out as the starting quartback the fans didn't leave, hoping for an explanation later. As the Falcons first half went poorly with only 1 field goal in answer to 13 points put up by the 49ers. During half time about half the Falcons fans were observed to be leaving the stadium with their heads hung low.
But then the Falcons starting fighting back scoring first one, then two touchdowns in the second half. And during that time the Falcons defense, hereto unseen this season, decided they would play ball and actually prevented the 49ers from scoring a single point in the second half.
So for now Frank Vuong has shown he is still capable of playing football in The War Room. However, shall he continue to provide results for the Falcons, or shall he fall into infamy as his brother Andre has already done. Time will tell.
Reporting out of Atlanta this is Cory Davis for WQXI 790 The Zone ATlantas Sports Leader. |

Falcons stay undefeated with W against the Panthers |
Last week the Falcons pulled off a slight victory over the #1 Chargers... This week was almost the same. The Falcons beat the Panthers, but it was way to close for comfort, but i am happy with a win. 24-21 isn't bad for trying a completely new game plan. i was pleased however, that David Carr had a great game with 343 yards. But a weakness was deffinately in the kick returns...25 yards in 2 attempts??? Pathetic, I could do that on one leg DeAngelo Hall . the rushing game was, descent, to say the most. 22 attempts for 103 yards, not bad. Overall i am happy with this team that Mr. Nevin has left me, starting out my first season with a 4-0 record... Good luck in the future Mr. Diaz! |

Falcons start strong with victory over Broncos |
The Falcons opened up the regular season with a win against the Denver Broncos. Late last night (about 12 ish to be exact), the Falcons and Broncos took the feild. Although the GM of the Falcons was unable to make it to the game (had to get some sleep) he awoke to a W. looking at the score he assumed it was a very close game. Good luck to Mr. McCauley and his team this season! |

Falcons Draft Review |
Hey Guys,
The draft has been an amazing one so far for this squad. Picking up a good WR to fill that extra slot (Randy Walker). We also have picked up some guys for the O Line and a nice cornerback (Donny Taylor) to add to the already strong defense.
Hope all is going well with the draft! |
