Jags win a big one
The Jags won a game they were expecting to lose of the New York Jets 23-20. The big win puts control in the Jags hands in terms of winning the division. One win in either of the last two remaining games solidifies a division title for the brand new GM Steven Beyer in Jacksonville. A loss by the Titans against the Patriots would also give the Jags the division regardless of what happens the last two weeks. The team got big plays out of each starting safety in the game, welcoming them back after a long time of being on the injury report. It was a pretty sloppy game with a total of 8 turnovers committed in the game, 5 by the Jets and 3 by the Jags. We'll take a win no matter how they come. Next week the Jags take on a hot Eagles team on a 7 game winning streak, followed up by a game against the colts who beat the Jags earlier int he season. A win against the Eagles would signal that this Jags team may be able to make some noise in the post season. Stay tuned.

Jags 4-2 heading into the bye week
The Jaguars are feeling good about themselves heading into the bye week. The Jags are currently in a three way tie for first place which will surely be a dog fight at the top of the division all season long. After the bye week, the Jags will play the Titans twice in three weeks in a match up which could tell who will be battling with the Colts come season's end. There will be plenty of tough match ups remaining with dates against the AFC powerhouses Patriots and Jets. So this Jaguars team is still a far way from being a sure thing, much less a hope, for a playoff spot.

The Jags are being carried by running back Dave Johnson who leads the TWR in rushing yardage heading into the bye week. Johnson has been a major reason, if not the only one, of why the Jags are where they are. The Jags have also got good defensive play out of Travis Walker, Terry Holland, David Wright and Rob Polk who are all on the league leaderboards at their respective positions. QB Herman Ortiz, while not putting up gawdy numbers, is #3 in the league in QB efficiency. Ortiz has been a great follow up to Johnson's running through the holes.

The big game against the Titans awaits the Jags after the bye.

Jags off to a 2-1 start
After a loss against the Giants to open the season, the Jags have bounced back with wins over division rivals, the Colts and Texans. These are huge wins being in the division. The lost its starting SS and that could be a concern for the next nine weeks. HB Johnson had a great game last week and we hope to see that success continue. The defense has gotten better each week and we hope to see that continue. We are very cautious in our optimism right now. We do hope the wins keep coming.

Jags Draft Ticker
1:11 - RT Zack Boone
The need to get bigger on the opposite side of the line was something of a need for the team. One could say we were settled on the right side of the line, but we wanted a bigger guy. drafting the mammoth 6'*' 340 lb offensive lineman did the trick. He has pretty quick feet and will have great push off the line as well.

2.11 - TE Walt Edwards
The tight end position needed some added beef to the position we thought. Sawyer is good, but we felt that with Edwards and his top end speed for a tight end, that he could be even better. He is also a bit stronger than that of Sawyer as well. This will give the Jags a great double tight end set that will help in both aspects of the offense we want to run.

3.11 - DT Dwayne Washington
This was another position that needed to get bigger. Behind Clay Irwin, both guys were under 300 lbs, not ideal in my tastes for a defensive tackle. Insert Washignton who is 6'3 almost 320, and that will help with the beef in the middle of the line. Initially this will be a down grade, but we are going to mold this team into our type of players. Big, physical specimens in the trenches.

4.11 - LG A.C. Pritchett
With an eye towards a future replacement, the team went after Pritchett. Pritchett will have a couple areas to work on while he waits his turn to start. When his time comes, it should be a relatively smooth transititon to the starting line. Hopefully we can get a couple more years out of our current starter though.
